Chicago, USA – March 4, 2019 – Andrew and Julie Naumann, Owners of Schilke Music Products, Inc., have announced that the new Schilke SB4-OT Soloiste Series Bb Trumpet has received an Editors Choice Award from Music Inc. Magazine. This coveted award is given by Music Inc. Magazine following a thorough evaluation of all musical instruments and accessories at the annual NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. The NAMM Show is run by The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), and is the world’s largest trade show in the music industry.
Since taking the reigns as President of Schilke Music Products in 2002, Andrew Naumann has designed many popular models that have become staples of the Schilke catalog, including the HD Series, i Series, Handcraft Series, P7-4 Piccolo Trumpet, 1040-FL Flugelhorn and 1041-FLC Flugelhorn with copper bell. The Soloiste Series is the culmination of Mr. Naumann’s experience as an innovator at the forefront of musical instrument design.
The Soloiste Series Bb & C Trumpets debuted at the 2018 NAMM Show and have become known for providing a rich and gorgeous core with the brilliance necessary to soar above the most grandiose of orchestras. At the heart of the Soloiste Series is a new valve casing design which offers the musician unparalleled clarity and resonance. Two new Soloiste Series Trumpets were unveiled at the 2019 NAMM Show: the SB4-OT Bb Trumpet and SC4-OT C Trumpet. These new models were the result of Mr. Naumann’s collaboration with Osamu Takahashi, the world renowned Principal Trumpet of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Building upon the success of the first Soloiste Series models, the SB4-OT and SC4-OT offer new options for bell, main tuning slide and bracing design. These new design elements combine to provide a unique experience for the orchestral trumpet player.
“We are proud to have received this award in recognition of the unparalleled quality of design of the new Schilke SB4-OT Soloiste Series Bb Trumpet. Our craftsmen have long been regarded as the best in the industry, ever striving to maintain the standards of excellence established by our founder, Renold O. Schilke, while continuing to innovate and create new instruments that will stand the test of time. We believe the Soloiste Series fits that description with aplomb,” said Michael Zielinski, Director of Sales for Schilke Music Products.
