William Lucas
William “Bill” Lucas is a member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra trumpet section, a post he has held since 1988. A much sought after pedagog, Bill has served on the faculties of the University of Michigan, the Oberlin Conservatory and Wayne State University. He is often referred to as the “Audition Guru” for his very successful AuditionMasterPro program, a step-by-step guide for winning auditions. A prolific composer and arranger for small ensembles, Bill’s classical compositions and arrangements have been performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Phoenix Symphony, and the Detroit Chamber Winds and Brass. In addition to his work with the Detroit Symphony, Bill is also an avid composer and performer of Jazz. His debut CD, “When it Rains” is available on iTunes.
